Down through the ages, man, through study of science, has always spent years in trying to find the answers to our being. The search for truth goes on. Many times, after much research, positive statements are given out and man is asked to accept them because science proves this or that, even though it may be contrary to God’s word. Our text declares that “God keepeth truth for ever”, and if only scientists could grasp this it would make their findings easier. We have recorded now in history how many times science has gone wrong which could have been avoided had they read the Bible (God’s Word) on the subject. Some examples are:-

In past centuries various science studies have been undertaken to count the stars. Many positive statements came forth numbering them between 1005 and 1056. A recent study has shown this to be wrong, and in fact there are now declared to be over 100 Billion. Had they read the truth of this declared by God through the Prophet Jeremiah approximately 2500 years ago in Chapter 33:22, “As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured” they could have declared this fact without doubt. We all know how man deliberated on the shape of the earth and declared after much research how it was flat. Once again that was proven to be wrong, but had man turned to He that made the earth in His word he would have found in Isaiah 40:22, given by the Lord over 2600 years ago, the words “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth”, and in Job 26-7, given by our Lord 3500 years ago, “He stretcheth out the North over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing”. God’s word is always truth if only man will come to that realization. Medical science has recently made the great discovery that a man’s body is made up of protoplasm and minerals, and as a result of this scientific discovery, tablets and medicine can be produced to balance these things in our system. What a long time it took man to discover what God had told us in the very beginning in Genesis 2:7, “And the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground” Once again God’s word was the Truth. With the study of geography, until recent times man believed that the ocean floor was flat. Now, through science, the great discovery has been made that in fact there are mountain ranges on the bottom of the ocean. Had these scientists read of what Jonah saw, 2800 years ago, when he was taken down in the whale, in Chapter 2:6, “I went down to the bottoms of the mountains”, this would have been believed many years ago. We read today of a brand-new discovery by science called “cloning”, and we are all expected to be excited by this scientific achievement of man. Man is only 6000 years late with this discovery, which we can read God performed in Genesis 2-22, “And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman”.

As we go through life, particularly in our rapidly changing world of discovery and theory we should never be carried away by the greatness of man; always remember that “GOD is THE CREATOR AND ALMIGHTY. We must never allow our worship to depart from Him. We must have been given access to Him by Jesus Christ. Psalms 24:1-2 “The earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”. Apostle Peter writes in 1 Peter 1:24-25, “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flowers of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the GOSPEL is preached unto you.”
