Once one of the Apostles linked us children of God to a “work of art” of the Holy Spirit. When it is completed a work of art brings praise to the artist; likewise, will we, when we will have completed our walk of faith. Apostle Paul expressed it as follows: “We shall be something unto the praise of his glory.”  Prior to becoming a praiseworthy, godly work of art, however, we must go through various developments:

• In the beginning, already before the foundation of the world was laid, there was the godly election Ephesians 1:4 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” It was our Heavenly Father who led us unto our path of life and directed our steps towards his altar.
• Then we recognized Jesus Christ as the Son of God, learned to love him and to hope in him. John 6:37 “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
• Thereby our faith grew under the activity of the Holy Spirit, so that God could form a covenant with us in rebirth out of water and the Spirit. John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

If we give the Holy Spirit room and opportunity to form us, we shall, as a praiseworthy “work of art” of the Holy Spirit, on the day of the return of Christ receive our inheritance because we are allowed to belong “the general assembly and church of the first born.” Hebrews 12:23 “To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect.” This inheritance is assured for us if we:

• Let our faith be strengthened by the word of God and the Grace of Jesus Christ;
• Do not grieve the Holy Spirit with which we have been sealed through sinful conduct. Ephesians 4:30 “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” And, in view of the imminent return of Jesus, take to heart to caution of the Apostle Paul, Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
