The Prophet Daniel was translating the mysteries of the lord who had written this word and others as a warning to the king at that time. This translation was of God’s word by the Holy Ghost in Daniel and as God’s word, which is forever, we should meditate on it as it relates to our lives. It stimulates in us the immediate thought of balancing up the books. All countries have to balance their books, and if they are found short then the population has to either pay more taxes or go without some government services.
All businesses have to balance their books, and if they are found short it usually means layoffs, cost-cutting or even closure. Every household has to balance its books, and if found short measures have to be taken to avoid foreclosure etc. God, down through the ages has also given many warnings that each and every one of us has to balance our books of life to determine how we go through life under the Lord’s blessings, and more importantly, the end result. ETERNAL LIFE.
If we had to live under the law as was given to Moses and accepted by God’s people at that time none of us could really look forward to any kind of balance that would bring us much joy. God in His love to fallen man sent His Son, Jesus Christ into the world to finish that law, which He did, and declared on the cross as written in John 19:20. “It is finished.” At the finishing of a time, the books are balanced, and no doubt the sacrifice of Christ was sufficient in the eyes of God to balance off that period of time. In fact it was all sufficient to overflow and be carried forward into our period of time to act as the balancer for us to the end of time -This balancer is GRACE.As God’s word is eternal, we too must also balance our books in the eyes of the Lord, and in our faith we are also given guidelines for the things that appear on our balance sheet. On the asset side we should find listed –
